| PilotMail Online | | PilotMail Online is a service, not an application, that leverages the power of your Pilot, allowing you to send and receive e-mail on your Pilot! PilotMail Online provides you with a mailbox, @pilotmail.net, that can receive mail from any valid Internet, Corporate, or Online Service mail system. To send email, just enter your message into a MemoPad "Outbox" category (All Pilot Models) or the built-in E-Mail Application (PalmPilot Professional only) and PilotMail Online will send it to its destination. You can send one message to multiple addresses, and even customize the From:, CC:, and Reply-To: fields. You can also use PilotMail Online to Fax from the Pilot! Enter a fax number followed by @fax in the To: field of your message, and it will be delivered to any fax machine in the world. The Pilot uploads the message to PilotMail Online servers, which will then keep re-trying until the fax has been transmitted. You receive a confirmation of FAX delivery by e-mail, right on your Pilot. In addition to your mailbox on pilotmail.net, you can retrieve mail from any mail system that supports one of the following protocols: POP2, POP3, IMAP. You can even access your PilotMail Online mailbox from your desktop using Netscape, Eudora, or other POP client program. Would you like to know right away that you have an important e-mail waiting for you? You can! | Pilot / OTP | | This program may be of use to you if you have UNIX servers (or similar machines) that use "OTP" one-time-passwords, or if you use the "S/KEY" system. ("S/KEY" is a trademark of Bellcore, and should not be used to refer to this software.)OTP is a system that allows you to log on to machines that require secret passwords without ever needing to directly type in your password. | Com2Com | | How about a utility that would pass the information from the Pilot cradle straight through to the internal modem? This way, [one] could use [one's] internal modem as if it were an external modem. Well, Fredrik Thunved has written a program, Com2Com, that does just that! The EXE file is a self-extracting ZIP-file with the installation program for the "Com2Com" utility. Simply run this file in a temporary directory and then run the "setup.exe" file that was unzipped. Note: The baud rate in the setup must be set the same on the Pilot |
| Earthlink Dialup #s | | Earthlink's US dialup numbers so Earthlink users can change their PalmPilot modem dialups while they travel. Great if you're using HandStamp or some other ISP-dependent software. This list should include all of Earthlink's recently added new lines. |
| IBM Network (update) | | IBM Global Network has currently nearly 1100 internet dial access numbers in 52 countries worldwide, including over 570 in the United States and Canada and they are all here. If the database is too big for you or you find that you'll never use some of the data in it then simply remove them from the database, that way you could shrink down to only the US portion for example. It is very easy to keep only your own subset instead of having the full database. |

| Web to Pilot | | Early in 1997, I wrote a set of scripts for my own use that I called Bitbucket. It worked quite well for what I wrote it for, so I decided it wouldn't be too much work (I was wrong =) ) to document it and post it to my web site. Well, Bitbucket can charitably be described as "Confusing as hell." So I tried to simplify it. Web to Pilot is the result. Hope you enjoy it.Web to Pilot opens bookmark ('URL ') or favorite ('LINK') files in the "Fetch" folder inside of the "Web to Pilot" folder. If all goes well, it shouldopen the files in the "Daily" folder and the files in the folder named for the current day of the week. You can add files for Web to Pilot to download by dragging icons from your "Bookmarks" window in Netscape (or your "Favorites" window if you use Internet Explorer) to the Finder. | DateBook to CSV Converter Installer | | I wrote this utility, dtbk2csv, to simplify the weekly ritual of filling out my timesheet. I had recorded all my appointments and activities in the Pilot datebook, but when I went to export the data it was clear that there was no way to accomplish it with the Pilot Desktop program. I had been in the habit of recording my activities in Microsoft's Schedule+, exporting them each week into a comma delimited file, importing them into Excel, sorting and subtotaling them, thenusing the data to record my hours in my client's system and fill out a timesheet for my company. I wrote this application to extract the important information from the datebook.dat file on the PC. It produces a file with date, start time, end time, client, and description. The client field is not supported in the Pilot datebook, so I just put in the client code plus a ':' in the description. If it exists it is extracted as a separate field. |
| DateBook2CSV | | Converts datebook.dat files into CSV files suitable of import into Excel and other applications. The new features are: ability to dump all fields, ability to choose several date formats, the ability to specify input and output file names. |

| DinkyPad PlugIn & Conduit | | In case you're not familiar with a Desktop Plug-in (after all, this is the first available) - A plug in is an add-on to the Pilot desktop that uses many built-in services that the Pilot desktop provides, for example, notification that a different user has been selected and notification that a HotSync is occurring. This is a companion application to the popular Pilot Dinkypad application and includes a Pilot Desktop Plug-In application for viewing your Dinkypad files on the PC and a Conduit for transferring those great drawings you made on the Pilot to the PC for viewing and archival purposes (and later, manipulation of the drawings). You may need some additional supporting files if they haven't already been installed by other products. The following should be installed in your Windows\system directory: MFC40.DLL and MSVCRT40.DLL. Note: The Dinkypad Conduit and Plug-In are only supported under Win 95/NT, so please don't download if you're using Win 3.x. These compressed files will not self-extract under the 16-bit environment of Win 3.x. Also requires HotSync Manager version 1.1. If you do not have it already, get it here HTsync11.zip first! Note for PalmPilot users: This application will not install under the PalmPilot 2.0 version of Pilot Desktop. This will be supported in the future. |

| HP Lx to Pilot Data Converter | | This is a quick and dirty package prepared for USR Pilot users that want to export data from any of the HP series of palmtop computers (95LX, 100LX, and 200LX) to the Pilot. This package uses GDBIO (an HP Palmtop extraction program), and a set of AWK scripts to prepare the data for importing into the Pilot using the Pilot Desktop Import function. It's quick and dirty - this is not intended for anything other than one time use, and I could be treading on a few toes by making the AWK and GDBIO executables available in this package. However, I'm doing it on the understanding that you will delete all of the files in this package once you have successfully imported your data into your Pilot. If you want AWK and/or GDBIO, go get them from the appropriate FTP sites. (AWK can be gotten from ftp.fsf.org I believe, and GDBIO is a popular HPLX program available in full on ftp.eddie.edu in /pub/95lx somewhere or other). |

| TODO2CSV.COM | | When you perform a HotSync to copy information from the Pilot to the Pilot Desktop on your PC, a number of .DAT files are created. Pilot Desktop provides import/export facilities for the Address Book and Memo Pad applications, so the data may be easily used by other PC programs. However, neither the Datebook nor Todo applications provide such a facility.TODO2CSV.COM is specifically for the Todo application. It reads the Pilot Desktop file called TODO.DAT and reformats the data into records of comma-separated values (CSVs). This file format is frequently used by spreadsheets, databases, etc. NOTE that each Todo item can have a Note attached to it. With TODO2CSV.COM, each line in the Note is a separate CSV item and appears at the end of the output record. |

| CASL | | CASL stands for (Compact Applications Solution Language) If you've been looking for a tool to enable you to use your Windows PC to quickly create software for the PalmPilot, you've come to the right place. CASL (Compact Application Solution Language) will let you turn your ideas into applications in a matter of minutes. Basically, you describe the visual objects that your program will display with just a few statements, then provide instructions for the PalmPilot to perform when those objects are triggered. Test the program on the your PC, then download it to run on the PalmPilot. It's that easy. NOTE: The demo software for download above is for demonstration purposes only, and contains a "limited" version of the CASL compiler that will allow the creation of small applications. if you attempt to compile an application, the output file (csm or csp) is deleted first. this means that if the sample file exceeds the demo compiler's limits you will not be able to execute the sample. go to the support page and download the samples if your executables have been deleted. |

The GLib library will usually contain three resources: GLib 0 (the code), data 0 (the library globals), and rloc 0 (the data relocation table). By contrast, an application if a resource database with (usually) five resources: code 0, code 1, data 0, rloc 0, and pref 0. The GLib 0 resource in a shared library corresponds exactly to the code 1 resource in an application. |

JET FILE requires the popular JFile database program from Land-J Technologies on the Pilot and creates and synchronizes a mirror image database in MS Access format. JET FILE comes with a simple demonstration written in MS Access that you can use as a kernel for your own projects. The JET FILE module may be distributed royalty-free and without restrictions as part of your own applications. A potential conflict of field names has been resolved. Registered users will receive a free update. The demo has been updated accordingly. |
| Jet File Single | | Jet File Single 1.1 offers almost the same functionality as Jet File 1.1: it allows you to synchronize JFile databases on the Pilot with a mirror-image MS Access database on your PC. There are two differences compared to its bigger brother: it doesn't support the multi-user capability of Jet File and it is only availailable for MS Access versions 7 and 97 - the ActiveX control for other programmingenvironments is not provided. Actually three differences: it costs less. The demo that you may download is the Jet File demo which allows you to specify a user name - a function that is not available with Jet File Single. A potential conflict of field names has been resolved. Registered users will receive a free update. The demo has been updated accordingly. |
| Jet Pilot | | Jet Pilot 1.0 is a programmers tool that enables you to read and write the data of the four Pilot standard desktop applications Address, Datebook, Memopad and ToDo from your own programs. This is accomplished by a fast two-way conversion process between the Pilot desktop files and amirror-image MS Access (MDB) database. Using Jet Pilot 1.0 many programming languages that are able to use the MS Jet engine (DAO), e.g., Access Basic, Visual Basic 5.0, Visual C++ 5.0, or evenExcel with VBA have full control of the Pilot desktop data. Jet Pilot has been tested with versions 1.0 through 2.1 of the Pilot Desktop application. |

These functions include all the standard routines normally accessed by including "math.h" on other systems, including trigonometry (with inverse and hyperbolic), logarithms, exponentiation, and miscellaneous helper functions. The only standard routines I left out were the Bessel and Gamma functions, which had the poor taste to be both very large and very rarely used. These routines have been ported from the GCC 2.7.2.2 source code for libm.a (which was itself based on free code originally developed by Sun Microsystems, Inc.), so this library is free software covered by the GNU General Public License. |

| HandyRandy | | There are all sorts of uses for random numbers, ranging from the frivolous (playing games) to the serious (handing out prizes at events such as running races) to the ultra-serious (performing business audits). Stevens Creek Software announcedtoday the release of Handy Randy (tm), the ultimate random number software for the PalmPilot. Here's what Handy Randy can do: Generate and display random numbers in user-specifiable ranges (e.g., 1-1000). Up to nine different, non-contiguous ranges can be specified (e.g., 1-200, 350-475) so that you don't waste time generating random numbers which aren't relevant to your problem. Keeps track of all numbers drawn, and, as a user-specifiable option, prevents any number from being drawn more than once. Lets you specify how many numbersare drawn with each tap, from 1 to 999. Generates random numbers up to eight digits (that is, up to 99999999). Optionally, sorts the numbers into numerical order, so you can easily see which numbers have been drawn. Displays the entire list of numbers which have been drawn in a scrollable view. And finally, in conjunction with PalmPrint software, also from Stevens Creek Software lets you print the list of drawn numbers directly to supported printers. |
